Star Wars API Projects Details

Did a small project on API.

It’s a project that displays the details of Star Wars cast name, gender, height and mass.

Though like I said it is a small project, but to me no project is small (especially in web development). Every project improves your understanding and there is this urge to make things better. Every project is an opportunity to learn new things and improve. To every project is a time dedicated to making it and making it work.

In this project, a couple of methods and properties were used in other to achieve the desired goal. The fetch API was use to fetch data from the API. A lot of the HTML was done using JavaScript DOM (Document Object Model), this include the characters images.

A fetch API return a promise, this promise can be fulfilled or in some cases the promise can fail, leading to error. It’s either it returns the data which can then be used or an error that is catch and stored in the browser console.

A video background was used to breeze life into the website, the star wars logo was used at the top as the website logo.

I added functionality to the website using JavaScript event listener method on the individual pictures. This makes it possible for a click and display effect.

Overall it is an exciting project, I have built more sophisticated stuff. This might be small but the time was worth it.
